I am an avid bird hobbyist and breeder, thus my expansion into the retail bird store to share my hobby and experience of breeding and husbandry with others.
I specialize in breeding the mutations of Lady Gouldian Finches. All birds bred in my aviary are either closed banded, family banded, and parent reared...with the exception of a few.... where they may have been fostered or hand reared due to parent abandonment. Most have genetic lineage records available also. I breed other finches, canaries, budgies, and grass parakeets.
I am a Florida liscensed breeder and exhibitor. Birds I don't rear are purchased from other licensed breeders. I avoid brokers that import by the large numbers from bird mills. I find the quality and health of these birds too risky to take a chance with. A bargain isn't always a bargain and the birds health and safety is always my first concern.
There is a Florida law that many area stores do not abide by. Pet stores can only buy from liscensed breeders... so if you are selling your birds to your local store and aren't asked to furnish your Fish and Wildlife liscense... then be warned, the birds they are selling to you and others are not documented! Beware that selling without this Florida Fish and Wildlife license is illegal and stores that encourage this trade are not operating legally! This is important for the welfare of our winged friends and for the protection of our avian hobby. I will be glad to assist any breeder who would like information on how to obtain a Florida Class III Fish and Wildlife Liscense. The charge for the liscense is $50.00 anually, no matter how many birds you have. It's the right thing to do and easy to get liscensed. I may just want to buy the chicks you breed and will certaintly provide them the best of care... but you must be liscensed first.

All birds are fully quarentined at my holding facility before being brought to the store. I offer a return policy if your veternarian examines the bird and finds a health issue within the first week of purchase.
